Working with The Bloc Studio

A clear process from first contact to launch

No guesswork. No surprises. Here’s exactly what happens when you work with The Bloc Studio, what we handle, and where we need you.

01

Getting started

You get in touch

Send us a message via email or our contact form. Tell us what you need even if it’s a rough idea. We respond with a few questions to understand your business, your goals, and your timeline.

02

Brief & scope

We scope the project together

Based on your brief, we map out exactly what needs to be built such as pages, features, integrations, legal requirements, and timelines. Nothing is assumed. Everything is agreed before we proceed.

03

Quote & agreement

You receive a transparent quote

We send a detailed quote based on the agreed scope that shows line by line, no vague estimates. Once you’re happy, we issue a service agreement for signing and request your deposit to begin.

04

Design

We design your website

Design begins once your deposit is received. We build around your brand, your audience, and your goals. You receive designs for review, with two rounds of revisions included.

05

Build

We build on WordPress

Approved designs go into development. Your site is built on WordPress that contains clean code, fast, mobile-responsive, legally compliant, and structured for search engines and AI from day one.

06

Test

Everything gets tested before you see it

Before we share anything with you, we test across devices, browsers, and screen sizes. Forms, checkout flows, links, speed, and legal pages are all checked. You get a clean staging link, not a rough build.

07

Launch

We go live

Once you’ve signed off and the balance is settled, we handle the launch. Domain connection, hosting configuration, final checks. You receive full handover documentation so you know exactly what you own and how to use it.

08

Ongoing support

We stay available after launch

Launch isn’t the finish line. We offer ongoing support for updates, security monitoring, content changes, and performance reviews either on a monthly retainer or on an ad-hoc basis, depending on what suits you.

Your involvement

You provide What we need

Your brief and goals, brand assets (logo, colours, fonts), final copy and images, timely feedback at review stages, and sign-off before launch. The more clearly you brief us, the better the result.

We handle What The rest

Strategy, design, development, compliance, SEO structure, testing, hosting configuration, launch, and documentation. You stay in the loop — but the technical work stays with us.

How Payment Works

Deposit to begin

A deposit is required before design starts. This confirms commitment and protects both parties.

Milestones on larger projects

For bigger builds, payments are split across key milestones so you’re never paying for work not yet done.

Retainer for ongoing work

Monthly support, updates, and content changes can be covered under a fixed retainer that is predictable and transparent.

What you can count on

Everything in writing

Scope, quote, agreement, and deliverables are always documented before work begins.

Fully remote process

We work with clients in the United Kingdom, United States, Europe and South Africa entirely online with no limitations.

2 revision rounds included

Every project includes two structured revision rounds. Additional changes are scoped and quoted separately.

Compliance built in

GDPR, POPIA, and regional legal requirements are addressed in the build and not just added as an afterthought.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you don’t see your answer in the list then you are welcome to ask us your questions by filling in the fields below.

How long does a website take from start to launch?

Most projects take between 4 and 8 weeks from signed agreement to launch, depending on the size and complexity of the build. A straightforward business website typically takes 4 weeks. A full WooCommerce ecommerce build is usually 6 to 8 weeks. The most common cause of delays is late delivery of content and images from the client. The clearer and faster your brief, the smoother the timeline.

For most projects, yes. You know your business better than anyone, and client-provided content always produces a more accurate result. However, if you need copywriting, photography sourcing, or content strategy support, we can discuss this as an additional service. This is scoped and quoted separately and agreed before the project begins.

Every project includes two structured revision rounds that include one after the initial design presentation and one after the build. If you require additional changes beyond these, they are scoped, quoted, and agreed in writing before any further work is done. There are no surprise charges: you will always know what something costs before we proceed.

Yes. Every website we deliver is built on WordPress, which has a straightforward content management interface. You receive full handover documentation covering how to update content, add products, manage pages, and handle basic maintenance. If you would prefer not to manage the site yourself, our ongoing support retainer covers all of that for you.
The deposit is required before design begins and confirms your project in our schedule. For standard projects, the balance is due before the site goes live. For larger builds, payments are split across agreed milestones so you pay in stages as the project progresses. All payment terms are set out in your service agreement before you commit to anything.
